Back to the Animal Kingdom

Saw a few animals on the
safari today that we had not seen
before, including these nasty looking dogs.
A group of giraffes is called a tower.  Don't think you can tell but
there were 7 in and around this clump of trees

A baobob tree and baby elephant.
This tree does not look real and appears
to be upside down.  Root like branches on
the top.

Look closely for the submerged hippo.

I think I've see Ed striking this same pose.
This big silverback is getting a good stretch.

Christmas and campfires, Florida style

Back to Donna and Dennis's porch for
Happy Hour; greeted by Drake.

Yes those are shotgun shells Donna used to make a lighted wreath.

Packed up and on the road again to Florida

We left on December 27th this year.

We spent our first night on the road
with dear friends, Bill and Marcia Cook.

Bill smoked ribs in his outdoor kitchen.

Marcia took off for work.  Love, love,
love her

Central City, KY home Bill built.

Christmas 2015

John and Erin came from Nashville
and we celebrated the birth of our
Lord together.  Molly always has
a fabulous dinner after church for all of us.

Anthony proudly displaying his new
Play Station

Grace got lots of clothes
and a new backpack.

Andrea had to try on her new hoodie,
footie pj's.

Erin got a new coat

Ed got a nap!

We went sale shopping with all
the gift cards.

Oh dear, haven't played this since
about 1966 in Bobbi Sue's basement.

As you can see, it was seasonable warm.
Ed put up the new basketball net
and Rob cooked steaks on the grill.

Dinner for our neighbors

We are truly blessed to have such wonderful
neighbors and invited them for dinner.

Hey, they do the dishes.  I think I'll have
them back again.

They loved my Chicken Marsala.

Knit bunch brunch at Spill the Beans

I knit on Monday's with a wonderful
group of ladies and we had our annual
brunch at Spill the Beans coffee shop where we
are so graciously welcomed each week.

The tables were beautifully set with
the owners grandmother's linens and
candlewick dishes.

A little Christmas baking

Grace and Anthony helped with
the peanut butter reese's cups.

Ed zested the orange for the Cranberry
Orange bundt cake

Big Ten Tournament Indianapolis

Our great season was topped off
with a win over Iowa at the tournament in
Indianapolis.  Steve and Linda Juday came
down from "Up North" and we drove together
for the game.  Nice day and not nearly as
cold as 2 years ago.

Safely home and celebrating our win over Iowa.
Now on to TX for the Cotton Bowl.

Downtown Chicago

We have decided to take advantage of
the great city we live near.  We took the train
into town and visited the Cultural Center and admired the
Tiffany stained glass dome.

The Pritzker Military Museum lobby was
recently restored and exposed the beautiful
Rookwood tiles; product of Cincinnati, OH

Bee at the bean.  After some Giordano's Chicago
style pizza and Garrett's popcorn we walked to "The Bean".
It's part of Millenium Park and is a highly polished stainless
steel structure reflecting the Chicago skyline.
