Fair Oaks Farm

This is a 19,000 acre farm about 20 miles

south of us.  It is a dairy and hog farm.

There are 72 cows on this milking carousel

and they have 12 of these that run 7 hours

a day.  Incredible process. 

 

 This mother had twins about 20 minutes

before we got into the birthing barn.

hot for the dunes today but we did

enjoy the water.



St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Festival

Lots of ethnicity to this little

town and every church has a summer

festival.  We were fortunate

to be able to tour this beautiful church.

University of Chicago Museum of the Orient

Wonderful museum on the campus

of the University of Chicago. Ed and I

spent the day downtown exploring Old Cairo

and Mesopotamia.

Old Jail House

John Dillinger escaped jail here

in Crown Point.  It's now a museum

 



Seward Johnson Sculpture Exhibit

"Art in the Point" program was

selected to exhibit a selection of Seward Johnson

bronze sculptures.  They've been strategically placed

around town.  This is just a sampling.



Monday morning knit group

We meet on Monday at a coffee

shop here in town.  Wednesday we meet

at the library.  Glad I found these

new friends.
